This page explains what Toolbox Town (the "site") does and does not do with information, and what choices you have. The short version: whatever you type into a tool is never uploaded, and there is no server here that stores it.
1. What you type into the tools
Every tool on this site — JSON formatting, Base64, timestamps, URL encoding, hashing, password generation, UUID generation, text utilities — is implemented entirely in front-end code. Anything you paste lives only in the memory of the current page and is processed by JavaScript in your browser. It is never transmitted to this site or to any third party.
- There is no endpoint that collects tool input and no database that stores it.
- Closing or reloading the page releases that input from memory.
- Your input is not written to localStorage or IndexedDB. The only locally stored value is a light/dark theme preference, which contains no personal information.
- You can confirm this yourself: open the Network panel in your browser's developer tools and watch that no request carries your input.
2. Information we receive automatically
Like almost every website, this site is hosted on a cloud provider (Cloudflare). When you request a page, standard access logs may record your IP address, User-Agent (browser and OS version), the page requested and the time. This is used to keep the service available, defend against attacks and diagnose faults. It is not used to identify you and is not shared with third parties for marketing.
3. Cookies and third-party advertising
Advertising on the page covers domain and hosting costs. You should know the following:
- The site uses third-party advertising services, including but not limited to Google AdSense.
- Google and its partners, as third-party vendors, use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Those cookies are set and read by the ad vendors. This site cannot read their contents and does not control how they are used.
How to opt out of personalised advertising
- Visit Google's Ads Settings to turn off personalised ads.
- You can also visit www.aboutads.info to opt out of some third-party vendors' personalised advertising cookies. Ads will still appear — they just will not be tailored to your browsing history.
- Disabling or clearing cookies in your browser also prevents these cookies from being written, though it may affect how some sites work.
- For details of how Google handles information from partner sites, see Google's explanation.
4. Children's privacy
This site targets general users with basic technical knowledge. It is not designed for children and does not knowingly collect their personal information. If you are a minor, use it under the guidance of a guardian.
5. External links
Some pages may link to external sites. Those sites are responsible for their own data practices; this policy does not apply to them, and you should read their notices before use.
6. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date at the top of this page changes with it. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated policy.
7. Contact
If you have questions about this policy, or believe the site has handled information improperly in any way, reach out through the contact page. Replies are usually within a week.
